Traditional Shower Door Installation

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q: How high does my enclosure have to be to install this door?

A: For the Delta® Traditional Shower Door Systems, the enclosure walls must be a minimum of 71 inches (180 cm) for a shower and 59 inches (150 cm) for a bathtub. This system cannot be installed on walls shorter than these measurements.

Q: Why is the outer sliding door on my Traditional shower hard to open?

A: The Center Guide may not be properly placed. The Center Guide needs to be correctly mounted on the Bottom Track. It should not be jammed against Bottom Glazing Components. Still need help? Contact Us

Q: Why are the back of the handles and/or rollers hitting when the doors try to bypass?

A: If the rollers or handles are hitting when the doors are sliding past each other, there are two things to check.

  1. Check that both of your side jambs are the same distance from the front of the threshold.
  2. Check that the handles and rollers have been tightened and are snug.

If you continue to have issues, reach out to The Delta® Shower Doors Customer Experience Team.

Q: Do I need to adjust the rollers on my shower door?

A: Most of the time, the roller settings do not need to be altered if the shower door is properly fitted according to the installation guide and the shower is plumb and level.

If the shower is out of plumb, the rollers must be adjusted. You can find this information in the installation guide for your specific Delta® Traditional Shower Door System version as follows:

Q: How can I prevent my shower door from leaking?

A: To avoid leaks, ensure the installation environment is sound (no more than 3/8" (0.95 cm) out of plumb and is level). Carefully follow all instructions for proper installation

Larger shower heads or handheld heads may also contribute to water leakage. Do not direct water at the glass. Additionally, apply sufficient silicone to the edges of the shower door per the installation guide.

Q: Can I use the same shower door track for a tub or a walk-in shower?

A: No. Be sure you have a shower door track for a walk-in enclosure and a bathtub track for a sliding door that's installed on a tub. They are not interchangeable.

If you purchased the wrong track for your enclosure (i.e., you purchased a bathtub sliding door when you have a walk-in shower), do not simply adjust the side jambs to fit. This may void the warranty and cause a safety issue, therefore installing the correct track to the correct enclosure is essential.

Q: Will Delta® Traditional rollers work with Delta® Ashmore shower door systems?

A: No. The Delta® Ashmore and Delta® Traditional shower door system rollers are not interchangeable. While these two doors have a similar design, there are two key differences in the roller bracket assemblies.

Delta® Traditional Shower Door Systems use 6mm glass and require Version 3 rollers.

In fact, Version 3 is the only version currently available as a replacement part. Conveniently, it is compatible with all Delta® Traditional shower door systems.

If you have an older Delta® Traditional shower door system model (bought before 2022) your door will have a different-looking roller. However, if you ever need a replacement roller bracket, you will buy Version 3

Delta® Ashmore shower door systems use 8mm glass and have their own dedicated roller assembly system. Always check your glass thickness and model before ordering replacement parts.
