Mod Shower Door Installation
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: Can I install a Mod Shower Door System without studs in the right place?
A: Wall studs are required for both 6mm and 10mm Mod Shower Door Systems. Check the bottom of Page 2 for proper stud-to-sill placement and Page 10, Step 4 for bracket installation.
If studs are missing or misaligned, stop installation and contact the Customer Experience Team. Consider the Traditional or Ashmore sliding doors, which don’t require studs.
Q: What are the enclosure size requirements for the Delta® Mod Shower Door System?
A: The installation dimensions for each Mod system can be found in the image below. Additionally, if the shower base is not level, the shower system will not perform as it should. If your enclosure is not plumb, Mod can only be adjusted up to 3/8 inch and no more.

Q: How deep does my sill need to be for installation?
A: Minimum sill depth should be as follows:
- Mod 6mm glass door models: 2-3/8 inches
- Mod 10mm glass door models: 2-3/4 inches
Q: What if the bottom track overhangs the sill—can I still install the center guide?
A: Yes. The Center Guide attaches to the Bottom Track. If the Track sticks out a bit, the Guide will too—and that’s okay, as long as the Track is securely installed. It should not overhang on the outer side of the sill.
Bottom Track installation is covered on:
- Page 33, Step 50 (6mm glass door models’ installation guide)
- Page 30, Step 43 (10mm glass door models’ installation guide)
Q: Are wall anchors required even when mounting into studs?
A: Yes. Wall anchors must be used, even when installing into a stud. Please refer to the Mod instruction manual, Page 13, Step 10, for both Mod 6mm and 10mm
PLEASE NOTE: For acrylic enclosures, use included wall anchors (Part AA). For ceramic tile enclosures, use included wall anchors (Part OO).
Q: How do I correctly position the template during installation?
A: To place the template properly during installation please follow these steps:
Find the center of the wall stud. Ideally, this should be 1-1/2 inches back from the front edge of the sill.
Then, place the template on top of the grab bumper, positioning it 7/8 inch from the front of the sill.
