Knoxville Shower Door Installation
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: Can the Delta® Knoxville shower door system be installed without studs?
A: No. The Delta® Knoxville glass shower door system must be installed into studs. If your walls do not have studs, consider the Delta® Ashmore shower door system, or the Delta® Ashmore bathtub shower system, which doesn’t require studs.
Q: What can be done if the walls are not plumb or is more than 3/8-inch?
A: First, determine how far out of plumb the walls are, using our simple How To Measure Guide (Step 2). If the difference is less than 3/8 inch (0.95cm), adjustments can be made via the inside and outside door roller assemblies to align the doors.
If your out-of-plumb conditions are more than 3/8 inch (0.95cm), we do not recommend installing this shower door.
Q: How do I secure the center guide - especially with metal or acrylic tubs?
A: For acrylic tubs, the center guide should be secured via screws, which are provided within the included parts package(s). For metal tubs, additional hardware such as screws and a drill bit designed to be used for metal will be required.
If you have a metal tub, please refer to your tub’s warranty before installation, to be sure drilling will not void your warranty. If you are not comfortable drilling into the metal tub sill, please do not install and contact us to explore alternative systems.
Q: Can the Delta® Knoxville glass shower door system fit different enclosure types and sizes?
A: Yes. It works with tile, fiberglass, or acrylic enclosures if your finished dimensions match the requirements. Refer to How to Measure a Shower Door guide to find the size door you’ll need.
