EverEdge Shower Door Installation
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: Where do I drill the holes for the collar brackets in a shower or tub installation?
A: If you're having trouble finding where to place the collar brackets, this information is on Page 12, Step 5A of the installation guide. For showers, the bottom hole should be 67-3/16 inches (171 cm) from the sill, and the top hole should be 68-11/16 inches (175 cm) from the sill.
For tubs, the bottom hole is 55-3/16 inches (140 cm) from the sill, and the top hole is 56-¾ inches (144 cm) from the sill.
Q: Do the collar brackets need to be installed into wall studs?
A: Yes. To ensure proper support, install the collar brackets into studs. These brackets will support the top track that carries the weight of the glass.
Q: What are the width and clearance height requirements for the 60-inch shower or tub door?
A: We recommend an enclosure width between 55-3/8 and 59-3/8 inches (141 and 151 cm) for both shower and tub models. The clearance height required is 73 inches (185 cm) for a shower and 61 inches (155 cm) for a tub.

Q: What are the minimum wall height and sill depth requirements for installation?
A: The wall height for installation should be at least 69-3/8 inches (176 cm) for showers and 61 inches (155 cm) for tubs. Additionally, the sill depth should at least 2-7/8 inches (7.3 cm), and the walls should not be more than 3/8 inch (0.95 cm) out of plumb.
Q: What’s the difference between the S1 template and the J1 side jambs and when are they installed?
A: S1 is the wall bracket template with 2 holes on the top side. It shows you where to drill holes for the wall brackets (but it should not be installed).
The J1 magnetic side jambs are for water retention. They have no pre-drilled holes and shouldn't be installed until Page 3, Step 48, after the glass is installed. Make sure the collar brackets and top track are installed before you install side jambs.

Q: Any tips on installing an EverEdge shower door on an EverEdge base?
A: When installing an EverEdge shower door system with the EverEdge base, there’s one key thing to know.
The top track bracket needs to be centered on the stud and set 2-½ inches (6.3 cm) back from the front edge of the sill. This placement ensures that everything else - like the magnetic side jambs, seals, and center guides - lines up perfectly. If this distance isn’t met, installation won’t be possible.
Q: How high should I install the top track for a shower or tub?
A: The height of the EverEdge top track follows the wall bracket template measurements:
For shower: Bottom hole is 67-3/16 inches (170.6 cm) from the sill. Top hole is 68-¾ inches (174.6 cm) from the sill
For tub: Bottom hole is 55-3/16 inches (140.2 cm) from the sill. Top hole is 56-¾ inches (144.2 cm) from the sill
