Delta® Contemporary Pivot Shower Door Installation Guide & FAQs
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: Can I use the Contemporary Pivot track with the Classic 500 shower base?
A: Yes, the Delta® Classic 500 Shower Base (model number B12135-363-WH) is compatible with the Contemporary Pivot Shower Door System.
However, the Bottom Seal (Water Diverter / Part M), which attaches to the bottom of the glass, may need to be trimmed to clear the full length of the base. We also recommend installing the Contemporary Pivot door behind the base.
Do not install the shower door track system on the lips. Instead, install the Bottom Track on the flat surface of the shower base inside the raised lip (see red arrows) and trim the Bottom Seal (Water Diverter / Part M) if it interferes with door movement.

Q: How do I know which shower door size fits my opening?
A: To ensure you have the right shower door size, carefully measure the width of the shower door enclosure. This pivoting shower door has three separate shower door systems:
- The 30-inch (76 cm) shower door system: Will fit a 27-to-30-inch (69–76 cm) space
- The 33-inch (84 cm) shower door system: Will fit a 30-to-33-inch (76–84 cm) space
- The 36-inch (91 cm) shower door system: Will fit a 33-to-36-inch (84–91 cm) space
Q: Why is water leaking under the bottom track or pivot bracket on my Contemporary Pivot door?
A: Check to see if the sealant is applied correctly. If needed, reapply.
Q: Where can I find the hardware for my Contemporary Pivot Door?
A: This hardware can be found in the Step 1 Glass Box, packaged within the Styrofoam.
Q: What do I do if the clamps won’t go on my Contemporary Pivot door?
A: You may need to use additional force to install the clamps. We do not recommend using metal tools or other hard objects. Ensure all set screws are removed from the hinge clamps during this step and reinstall them when the clamp is in the desired position.
Q: Why won’t my Contemporary Pivot shower door close?
A: First, check to make sure that the strike jamb and the pivot jamb are the same distance from the front of the threshold. If this is correct, check the distance "A" in Step 25 in the installation guide for consistency with location of the top clamp and the bottom clamp.
