Delta® Commix Shower Door Installation Guide & FAQs
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: Do I need to install the Delta® Commix Shower Door System into wall studs?
A: For warranty and safety reasons, you should install the shower door system into studs. Installing the top track into studs ensures stability of the sliding glass panel.
If studs are missing or misaligned, stop installation and contact the Customer Experience Team. Consider the Traditional or Ashmore sliding doors, which don’t require studs.
Q: What happens if I install the fixed panel on the wrong side?
A: The shower door should be installed according to the installation instructions for water retention, warranty, and safety. The fixed panel should be installed on the outside and furthest from the showerhead.
The opening (sliding glass) panel should be installed on the inside and closest to the showerhead. If it is installed the opposite way, you increase the risk of water leakage and may void your warranty.
Q: How can I troubleshoot a Short Set Screw?
A: Take the fixed panel support bracket apart and double-check that reassembly is being done per the installation guide. There are 2 sizes of set screws. Be sure to check that you have the correct size in the right location. Please refer to page 7 and page 25, step 34 for visuals of the screw sizes and proper locations of their installation.
Q: Do I need to use anchors when installing into studs?
A: Anchors should always be used when installing the shower door system into studs. We recommend using the anchors that are provided. For further information on the importance of anchors, go here.
