Care and Cleaning

A new shower or bathtub door is an investment in your
bathroom and home so it’s natural to want to keep it looking pristine. Here are
a few guidelines and tips that will help keep your Delta® shower door looking
beautiful.

For best performance, after each use, use a good quality squeegee to remove water from the surface and wipe the door dry after showering with a clean, soft microfiber cloth. This is especially important if you live in an area with hard water or if you notice soap deposits.

Care and Cleaning Your Shower Door

Periodically clean your glass with a mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners and never use bristly brushes or rough sponges. For regular cleaning, use ONLY mild detergents or warm, soapy water, use ONLY non-abrasive cloth or sponge, and ALWAYS rinse surfaces after cleaning.

Before cleaning your shower door with cleaning products, test a small, inconspicuous area.

If your shower door glass panels are treated with Spot Guard, they also have a hydrophobic coating that’s been factory applied to the inside facing panels. Spot Guard coating repels water and makes it easier to clean. Combined with regular maintenance and avoiding harsh chemicals, Spot Guard will help reduce water stains, and keep soap scum and limescale from building up.

CAUTION: Delta Faucet Company does not recommend the use of cleaning products that contain any of the following chemicals. Use of products containing these chemicals can cause the products to discolor and will void the warranty:

  • Naphtha
  • Hydrogen Peroxide Solution (common household peroxide)
  • Toluene
  • Ethyl Acetate
  • Lye (common in drain cleaner)
  • Acetone

Following the recommended care and cleaning instructions for your Delta® shower or bathtub door will help ensure that your door remains a beautiful feature of your bathroom for years to come.
